3w Polymer Wool Pad from Aqua One - (25003W)

Aqua One's 3w Polymer Wool Pad works in a number of Aqua One aquariums, including: AquaStyle 620, AquaStyle 620T and AquaMode 900 models and provides high quality physical filtration in your filter system. The 3w Wool Pad's primary function is the removal of the smallest particles of aquarium waste, protecting other filter elements from becoming clogged and removing tiny particles of debris from your aquarium water, giving it that "polished" look. White Polymer Wool Pads are designed to attract and bond with minute particles of aquarium debris and will become soaked with aquarium waste.

Change every 4-6 weeks

Unlike the Black Sponge that can be rinsed and reused several times in your trickle filtration system, the 3w Wool Pad cannot be reused and must be replaced with a fresh one when completely clogged. The 3w Polymer Wool Pad is an optional filter pad in some aquaria that also use a carbon and wool cartridge such as the AquaStyle series or an essential filter element in tanks such as the UFO range.

The 3w Polymer Wool Pad can also be used in addition to the Carbon and Wool Cartridge in some aquariums to add an extra layer of filtration and instead of the Carbon and Wool cartridge when this has been removed to allow for the application of medical treatments to your aquarium water.

Easy to install, low maintenance

Although you may well have a different aquarium model, do look at the video below of the AquaStyle 380 trickle filter which shows both the carbon cartridge and the black sponge pad after use, noting how filthy the carbon and wool cartridge has become. The 3w Wool Pad would normally be placed above the carbon and wool cartridge to add an additional layer of protection for the carbon and wool cartridge and an extra filtration layer for those minute particles of aquarium waste. As stated above, the 3w it may be used to completely replace the carbon and wool cartridge if applying medical treatments to your water.
