Replacement (27i) Impeller from Aqua One - (25027i)
This is a genuine and original specification replacment Replacement (27i) Impeller manufactured by Aqua One for use with Maxi 103F internal filter filter pumps and will restore performance, should your impeller have become worn, or any of the impeller components damaged or lost
Replace every 12 months
Filter pump impellers work extremely hard and the 27i Impeller is no exception, spinning thousands of times per hour in your aquarium Filter Pump. For this reason we recommmend that you replace your 27i Impeller set every 12 months. Doing so will also help to preserve the working life of your Filter Pump.
Keep a spare pump impeller
It's both smart and inexpensive to keep a spare 27i Impeller set and this will help to head off unforeseen emergencies should your original 27i Impeller fail unexpectedly. Filter pump impellers are the only moving, serviceable part in your filter pump and work extremely hard, spinning thousands of times an hour. Wear and eventual failure are pretty much inevitable and we'd always recommend that you keep a spare to avoid unecessary downtime of your Filter Pump.
Filter Pump Maintenance
Once a week (or sooner if you notice reduced waterflow) check the filter pump impeller isn't blocked with aquarium waste and that it can spin freely. Pipework should be checked once a month to ensure that there are no blockages restricting waterflow and it's also good policy to check the condition of the filter media pads on a regular basis as these can sometimes become clogged over time. Rinse Black sponges in a little aquarium water and replace Polymer Wool Pads as necessary, usually every 4 to 6 weeks.
Replacing the 27i Impeller
Aqua One's filter pump impellers are reasonably easy to replace. First of all disconnect the power supply, then remove the suction cups that hold the pump in place and take the pump out of your aquarium. Clip off the impeller cover and remove the impeller. The 27i Impeller is magnetic and should be reasonably easy to remove. Install the 27i Impeller, check the impeller chamber is clear of debris and then reverse the above process to re-install the filter pump in your aquarium.
