54c Carbon and Wool Cartridge from Aqua One - (25054C)
Aqua One's 54c Carbon and Wool Cartridge is an essential part of the hang on filtration system utilised by the Clearview 100.
The 54c Cartridge performs two very important funtions in the aquarium. Firstly, the high quality Aqua One Activated Carbon both purifies and clarifies the aquarium water, removing discolouration and odours, whilst the Polymer Wool layer on top not only protects the carbon from becoming clogged, the fine wool traps the very smallest particles of aquarium debris / waste.
Change every 4-6 weeks
The 54c cartridge can become very dirty in the aquarium filter system, working hard to trap unwanted waste matter and it's clear that this cannot be rinsed successfully and must be replaced with a fresh 54c cartridge.
Equally, it's important to note that the Activated Carbon Particles in the 54c will also have become completely used up within 4 to 6 weeks, as the carbon granules will have by this time, absorbed their full capacity of unwanted impurities and for this reason too, the 54c cartridge must be replaced with a brand new one.

54c Cartridge are extremely easy to install and maintain, but it's always worth checking the condition of the 54c once every couple of weeks to ensure that it's not become completely clogged with aquarium debris. The lifespan of the 54c Carbon and Wool Cartridge will generally be determined by the quality of aquarium water in your aquarium but is ALWAYS considered spent after 6 weeks.
