The 2c Carbon and Wool Cartridge performs two very important funtions in the aquarium. Firstly, the high quality Aqua One Activated Carbon both purifies and clarifies the aquarium water, removing discolouration and odours, whilst the Polymer Wool layer on top not only protects the carbon from becoming clogged, the fine wool traps the very smallest particles of aquarium debris / waste.

Change every 6 weeks

You'll see from the video below that the carbon and wool cartridges can become very dirty in the aquarium filter system, working hard to trap unwanted waste matter and it's clear that they cannot be rinsed successfully and must be replaced with a fresh carbon and wool cartridge.

Equally, it's important to note that the Activated Carbon Particles in the 2c will have become completely used up within 4 to 6 weeks, as the carbon granules will have absorbed their full capacity of unwanted impurities in this time and for this reason too, the 2c cartridge must be replaced with a brand new one.

Easy to install, low maintenance
